If you've had induction and ELCS...

Which would you choose again?

Seriously contemplating ELCS after a horrific induction 7 years ago, had a second induction that was better but still not good (they left some of my placenta inside so got an infection and had a second haemorrhage) but I haven't had a c section so can't really compare. If you've had both, which one would you chose again? Thank you so much for any insights Smile

If you receive an induction you are statistically more likely to then need further medical interventions in the labour (ie forceps, episiotomy, ventouse). Not always, just a higher chance. Whereas ELCS is the most extreme intervention but you at least know what's coming. Sadly no easy way out, so may depend what outcome you'd be more comfortable with.

Elective c section every time - my induction didn’t work first time had strep and Labour didn’t progress resulting in baby becoming distressed, therefore three day Labour led to Emergency c section

Second time multiple factors led to decision for elcs however it was a lovely experience .. as much as being cut open can be anyway haha no but in all honestly we knew when baby was coming, there was always a plan incase Labour initiated spontaneously we got a time and he met his big brother before tea time the same day
