40+4 weeks - constant period ache. What’s happening?

Hi all,

I’m a FTM expecting my rainbow baby and currently 40+4 weeks pregnant! Actively losing the will to live and feel like I’m becoming delusional!

I started having very mild period like aches a few days ago but they would come and go and were not consistent at all. Last night and today I’ve had a much a more constant ache all day that doesn’t go but doesn’t progress either. Is this early labour? How long can I expect it to continue for? When will I know that contractions have begun? Or is this ache considered a contraction?

I’m so confused and just wishing for it all to start!!

TIA

Seems like youre in early labour! Unfortunately I was in early labour for nearly a week, it started of as mild period cramps that would come and go and sometimes I wouldn't get any at all for hours. By the 5th day I remember my cramps suddenly started becoming a lot more painful and came a lot more often however it was still all over the place. By the 6th day Id given up and thought Id be stuck pregnant for the rest of my life lol. I went out to eat with my husband and visited family, went for a walk for some endorphins also had sex and next thing I know my cramps were incredibly painful and came every 4 mins. Gave birth in the morning! Just hang in there and stay as active as possible!

Yep labour! Have to just wait for them to ramp up. Exciting!

Thank you for the response! I hope mine is similar! I’m just finding it hard to differentiate between the period ache and period cramps.. what I have now is definitely a strong ache… and that’s where my confusion lies! Waiting for full on cramps and contractions, will try a good long walk ☺️
