Leaking waters??

Hi,

just looking for a little advice…I’m 37+1 with DC2. Laye last night whilst watching tv I had a small amount of fluid/discharge (I’m really not sure what it was, I think it may have been too much to be discharge and was completely watery). I popped on a pad and lay down for around one hour then checked it and it seemed dry so I just went to bed as it was late.

I put a fresh pad on this morning just incase it happens again. I’ve checked the pad and it doesn’t seem wet but every so often I can feel a small amount of something trickle out, almost feels like when you are on your period and every so often can feel the blood trickle out.

does anyone have any experience with anything like this or have your waters leaked slowly and if so what was it like? I don’t want to make an unnecessary trip to hospital but also wouldn’t like an infection if it was my waters..

thanks in advance 🤎

You need to get checked out by a midwife.
From my experience they will be able to do a test to see if the waters have started to go.

This happened to me.

You can't ignore it as they may need to intervene to prevent infection incase la our doesn't naturally follow.

Good luck OP!

Thank you! I think I will ring my assessment unit! Just so unsure on what it is especially if pad is mostly dry now but still feels as if something is slowly leaking🫣

Sounds like a good move to get checked out. Once waters start going, there is a certain amount of time for labour to start, or else they might want you to take some antibiotics. Have you had a Group B Strep test in this pregnancy? Take the pad with you if it has waters on it as they can use it to check if it is your waters.

I think I'll ring assessment unit soon! I'm just so unsure as with my first child my waters broke in the middle of a contraction and it was so much fluid🤣 where as this is very minimal

I had something similar... thought I'd wet myself!
I had a slow trickle for about 48 hrs. They reckon the sac tore at the top and so the waters were just slowly trickling rather than the gush.
My contractions never started so ended up being induced.
I was also 37weeks

Def get checked.
