Hey guys x
Im higher risk for pre-e but doc said it doesnt mean i will necessarily get it..

my mother had it only with her first born and my bmi is in the unhealthy range also.

Im 24 weeks currently and my feet have been swollen for a few days from the ankle and the actual foot too.

My eyes have been super itch idk if this is related!?

Can anyone tell me what their early experience of pre-e looked like and any signs??

It's a long time ago now, but I was diagnosed with pre-elampsia at 32 weeks, during a routine ante-natal check up. My blood pressure was through the roof and there was protein in my urine.
Physically though, I felt absolutely fine. I'd noticed some swelling but thought that was just normal pregnancy stuff. I had some pain at the top of my bump (apparently that's a symptom!) but again, thought nothing of it. Was admitted to hospital and my son was delivered by c-section three days later, weighing 3lb. He's a strapping 25 year old now.
Second pregnancy was completely normal.

Hope all goes well for you.

Similar to @TheMainlySilentFrog - it was detected at an antenatal check up but at 38 weeks, I was kept in and induced that day.

I hadn't had any reason to be concerned up until that point. BP had been higher than normal for me but not concerning. I too was quite puffy and had been for weeks.

I had some weird little floaters in my field of vision in the final days, not enough to really think about it at the time but on reflection that was probably a sign.

Once he was born, normal and healthy but smaller than expected, we realised the placenta had deteriorated and baby hadn't grown much since his final growth scan a week or 2 earlier. He was born starving and jaundiced, he put on an enormous amount of weight in his first few weeks to catch up.

I had high BP for most of my 2nd pregnancy but the PE didn't return.

Fingers crossed for you OP.

I was diagnosed with rapid onset pre eclampsia when I was 10 days overdue. Unfortunately the hospital
Missed the subtle signs I'd been having as there was no protein in my urine showing until I was effectively in big trouble. This was 16 years ago and I hope to god things have now changed.
I"d been having fluctuating high BP for weeks and my feet and ankles were like balloons and I couldn't even get any shoes on. This was put down to just a side effect of being pregnant (which of course it can be). However the trace I had on my baby wasn't text book either but they still made the decision to send me home.

When I eventually went into labour I was on the verge of fitting and organ failure but I honestly didn't feel unwell other than the signs above.

I'd say if you have any subtle signs you get thoroughly checked out.

Like PP, I didn't experience any symptoms either. During a routine check up at 36 weeks, my BP was found to be extremely high and there was protein in my urine. I had a CS shortly afterwards. My BP remained elevated and I've been medicated since. That was 21 years ago.

It's hard with PE as a lot of the symptoms on their own can be just normal pregnancy symptoms (swollen ankles, headaches etc).

For me, I noticed the swelling getting worse from about 30/32 weeks. I also kept getting trace protein in my urine at every appointment and my (normally sitting on the low side of normal) BP was high.
Over the weeks following that, I started testing my urine myself at home with sticks bought off amazon and the protein was increasing. I went into the hospital a few times with this and reduced movements and every time my BP would be high but they'd leave me to rest for an hour and it would come down again so I'd be sent home.
36 ish weeks my face and whole body got really puffy and I started getting the headaches and visual disturbances and ended up in A&E one Sunday as it was so bad. They referred me back to maternity.
Again the checks started high but came down again, had a growth scan and all looked OK with baby etc.

It wasn't until 37 weeks when I was in again getting checked and this time my BP refused to go down and protein in urine now ++++. I was admitted to hospital on the spot. Had a week of steroid injections and baby born at 38 weeks by ELCS. Despite normal growth scans, she was actually only 5lbs 15oz and there was a slight issue found with the placenta.

My BP returned to normal straight after giving birth and DD is now a healthy 4 year old!

Another one here where it was picked up at an antenatal appointment.

With my first, it was picked up at the 36 week appointment. Think I had ++ protein, and my BP was borderline high. It had been increasing steadily the entire pregnancy, but this was the first time it had been high. I was called into hospital the following morning for a re-check. As all readings were worse, so I was admitted there and then to await induction. Other than the urine, BP, and bloods (I also had elevated liver enzymes) I had no other symptoms. Admittedly, I was swollen, but I swell in the heat and it had been very hot for the previous 3-4 months. As baby was well grown (I had also had growth scans), and BP responded well to meds, induction was started at 37 weeks. Baby was born the next day weighing 7lb5. She was jaundiced, but that's to be expected when they're slightly early.

My second it was picked up at 34 weeks (I'd missed that appointment with my first). BP was sky high, and protein was very high too. My blood revealed extremely high liver enzymes as well. I had no other symptoms. However, a admin cock up meant that I was placed in the low risk call back pile, so it wasn't followed up until 2 weeks later (yay COVID!). Once again I was called back in, rechecked, and admitted to await induction (36 week scan showed another well grown baby). Things were a bit busier this time, and baby was not playing ball with his position (breech at 36 weeks, then back to back at 37). While labour started ok on the drip, it did not progress as it should, so I had a C-section. He was born just shy of 38 weeks weighing 8lb1. Jaundiced like his sister, but again, it was to be expected.

Get yourself checked out if worried.

High blood pressure , very swollen which turned into pitting edema once go seen that I was sent straight to hospital and induced at 38 weeks . I was very swollen for weeks before hand and my blood pressure was up and down but didn't feel unwell . When they measured my protein though was off the charts
