Can anyone tell me what actually happens at the anti d appointment?? Like I know what I'm getting it for but I want to know what happens at the appointment.

If anyone could enlighten me that would be great😆

The first time I wore a short sleeved top, only to get there and be told I was having it in my bum. So for child two I made sure I wore my good pants, and they did it in my arm 😂 (different hospitals).

I had one for every pregnancy and every miscarriage after my first. All in my bum!

Mine were in arm.

They'll bring you in, explain what it is and how it works etc. Then inject - it's intramuscular so either upper arm or bum. I'll forewarn now, it's a bloody big needle but it stung less than routine blood draw.
My first was in my bum (bleed pre 25 weeks) so I felt a royal wally turning up to 25 week appt and starting to roll my dress up only to be told it was upper arm!

Thank you so much I feel more prepared now🤣

They may also need to give you one after birth, at my hospital they test the babies blood and if they’re positive then you get another one, within an hour or two of delivering the baby. Thankfully I’d had an epidural so an injection was no problem.

I had my first injection last Thursday.

It's honestly fine and Nothing to worry yourself about. It was over and done with within a minute, mine was In my upper arm (27weeks, no previous bleeding just found the mine and baby's blood types were opposite).

The needle is quite big, but the whole thing doesn't go in. It can sting a little tiny bit when injecting, but it's virtually unnoticeable, if she hasn't of pre-warned me it might, I genuinely don't think I'd of noticed.

I didn't have a sore or dead arm after. Felt completely fine. My whooping cough vaccine hurt more.

My second one will be after the birth (or maybe before, can't remember what she said now)
And done and dusted. 🙂

I had to really bug them for mine. Didn’t get it until about 32 weeks pregnant, after lots of reminders to them and asking! I had it in my arm, midwife asked me to wait outside the room for 20 mins afterwards in case of a reaction and warned me I might feel ill, I was absolutely fine. Didn’t look at the needle so can’t comment on its size, but the whooping cough one hurt way more and I felt far worse afterwards.

I’ve had quite a few now, at two different hospitals and all have been in my arm. As a pp said, I was also told to wait outside for a while afterwards to make sure there were no side effects but I felt absolutely fine after it every time. Nothing to worry about at all! 😊
