[hopeful emoticon]
Am 36 weeks with 2nd baby and it is halfway engaged already. Bump is so low. Couldn't bring myself to ask the midwife this Q today as I felt sure she would tell me there's no way of knowing and I would so like the baby to come early or on time.

Nope (sorry) my DS engaged at 32 weeks - contractions started 40 weeks on the dot born at 40 weeks +1day.

Mind you I noticed I could eat again as he'd moved down away from my stomach

sophiebbb · 17/04/2008 15:37

Sorry - this baby engaged at 20 weeks. He's staying in for the duration whether he likes it or not.

Also with DD she was engaged from 25 weeks till 37 when she flipped to breech, twice, before free floating for the rest of the pregnancy!

deaconblue · 17/04/2008 21:29

20 weeks, bloomin nora. It's sooooooo umcomfortable, I feel like I've got a bowling ball hanging between my legs. I don't think ds could have engaged properly til I was in labour as it never felt like this with him. Will have to stop second guessing and be patient, she'll come when she's ready

My GP asked if I had some sort of water infection because I was 'walking like John Wayne'.

BTW, it's very worth sitting on a birth ball, reduces the pressure on your bladder.
