How long after giving birth till 1st period ?

Just curious what other peoples experiences were when they got their first period after childbirth ? I'm 7 weeks PP tomorrow and still ah ent had a period and I'm dreading it as I'm sure it's going to be the mother of all periods .

Around 12 weeks after birth with the children I didn't breastfeed and just over a year with the one I did, currently breastfeeding my newborn so I'm hoping it's the same this time as I'm not looking forward to periods again 😅

I expressed for 6 weeks, then stopped. Period returned either 13 or 15 weeks post partum. I can’t remember the exact amount. Just that it had gone passed 12 weeks.

7 weeks and I was bottle feeding.

4 months for me, exclusively breastfeeding. C section.

Periods were erratic pre-baby and always had been. 22yrs on and off hormonal contraception. Periods were painful, erratic, and differed in length and flow - no cause ever found.

Perfect 28 day cycle post baby! Heavier 2nd and 3rd days (but not ‘heavy), 5 days in total.

Still EBF, not on hormonal contraception.

And then I caught Covid, which messed everything up!

6 months for me. I was breastfeeding but was having to give formula top ups.

Before pregnancy I had horrific pain in the first couple of days of my period and sometimes nausea. I had to take painkillers every month. Since they came back I don't think I've had to take painkillers in 7 years.

8 weeks PP for me and I was EBF. Still breastfeeding now at 14 months!
