How long did it take to fully heal and does anyone feel like a flatten cake and I don't know how to deal with it as it's putting me down a bit

I had one. I felt really relieved. The weird “empty” feeling you get is totally normal. Recovery looks different for everyone, but if it helps you to hear about an easy one, mine was easy. Do you have a supportive partner? Are you in hospital now, or at home? How is baby doing?

Hi OP! I’m 4 weeks post section (my third one actually, first one emergency and the rest planned) and I feel absolutely fine now… although I need to remind myself to take it easy as it’s all stil healing inside. I also feel like a flattened cake and just tell myself this is all part of the recovery process, it’ll take months for the body to go back to normal so I try to embrace it. It’s not forever :) how is your baby doing? How long ago did you have your section?

for all 3 of my sections, I found the pain itself disappeared almost entirely after 5-7 days but I felt some discomfort and tenderness for another week or so.

try to rest as much as you can - I know it’s easier said than done! Please take care of yourself if you continue to feel down, though! Be sure to tell the midwife xxx

Had one with dd1. It really did get a little better each day and every time I moved it was easier. Make sure you take painkillers and get lots of rest. I was out with pram for walks at about one week then driving at 3 weeks.

I remember when it was first done - it hurt so much.

But it does get better.

My recovery was really straightforward. You will feel much better in a few days. Try not to twist.

And, if you have to have one in the future, my second one was planned, and I was feeling back to normal by two weeks.
