Pico dressing

I'm a size 10 in between pregnancies I've had 2 emc and always got back to flat stomach inbetween but but had a small ledge / overhang which I honestly hate. I'm pregnant with number 3 and thinking of requesting a pico dressing because of the compression. Wondering if it would help reduce any overhang ?

They're designed to promote wound healing, and won't do a thing for your overhang sorry.

Quite curious to know now if your trust offers them as part of a regular C-section on a normal BMI person. My trust only ever given them either by request from tissue viability where there was a previous severe wound breakdown, or paid for as part of a private C-section. There are currently talks to potentially use them on morbidly obese patients, but the cost is far too prohibitive to offer them to everyone.

Yes as Pp said, they don't offer compression and won't do anything for an overhang. They are only used in our trust for people with a high BMI or with a history of wound breakdown.

Ok thanks for your help. I'd be happy to pay but if they aren't going to help no point will go for honeycomb

My (arrogant but excellent) surgeon told me that whether or not you get an overhang is down to the skill of the surgeon. I don't think a dressing makes a difference.

Defo going to beg my surgeon @eurochick to do an amazing job
