Hi, would anyone have any advice on how to treat haemorrhoids as bad as these. They appeared a couple of days after having my baby. So painful I can't sleep at night. The pain is worse when I lie down. They have started to bleed now also. I got a Prescription for scheriproct suppositories and ointment but they are not helping. They just make the pain and stinging worse.

I would go to A and E if the pain is severe and the prescribed drugs aren’t working. That looks very severe and they can’t leave you like that.

That looks thrombosed.
Take painkillers. Strongest you have.
Take a warm bath in Epsom salts.
Apply a cold pack wrapped in cloth to try and numb them down.
Use your ointment and suppository.
GP / urgent treatment centre appointment asap.

Oh, you poor love, that looks so painful. Yes, urgent care if you can't get a GP appointment very soon. You poor thing.

You can get them lanced as they are definitely thrombosed. The pain relief when they ar popped is immense. Do not attempt it yourself! Deffo an and e or urgent care asap.

I agree with others. Yes they are thrombosed which basically means that the pile cannot shrink back. Have as many warm baths as you can (2/3 a day) and stay in the water til your fingers go wrinkly.
It is very painful however over the next 3 weeks or so this will slowly go down. Make sure you are not straining at all - use bulking laxatives and drink a lot of water. What will happen eventually is that you will be left with a skin tag which you can have surgically removed. There's no such thing as "lancing" piles like this. If this has occurred due to a lot of straining and normally you don't suffer this shouldn't occur again however once this has happened you need to be careful with diet, hydration and use suppositories if you feel at all constipated.

I suffered exactly the same in third trimester ( I had an emc )
The only cream that gave any relief was germaloids and put loads on. I also wrapped ice cube in kitchen roll and popped that on them and laid on my side it numbed them for a while.
Really feel for you as if you need this after giving birth and dealing with a newborn - hugs x

I had exactly the same after my second and was prescribed very very strong painkillers. They eased after a couple of days and then the creams and suppositories did the job of shrinking them

Please do see a doctor urgently as that does need looking at.

Were you actually seen by a GP or just a telephone consultation. Ive never seen mine but have had them where I am in agony, cant move around, sleep, sit down, stand up, walk horrendous. (well done on being able to get a pic by the way, not sure I would manage that)

But I was given anaesthetic gell, laxitives and the scheriproct (excuse spelling) as you were, they went down in the end.

Horrendous.

Call GP out as surely if you've just had a baby and you have piles like this you can be classed as housebound?

GP and ask for a house visit if you can!

Are you due a midwife visit?

In my experience GPS aren't very sympathetic with piles even thrombosed ones. But if the midwife isn't due call the GP and explain how large it is.

Anusol tissues were very helpful for me (moist and keep them in the fridge) and ice packs.
