"Induction" with twins, fed up 🫥

Hi 👋 so I am 37+6 today with dcda twins. I went to my appointment to be induced late afternoon yesterday, they were going to go with the balloon method...got there, they monitored the babies all good, examined me & said oh you don't need anything you're already 3cm and it can be stretched to 4, we'll put you on the list to have your waters broken then we'll give you a stretch and sweep and you can go home and come back daily for a sweep until your name comes up on the list (anywhere from 5 to 7 day long list) 😳 ... had my sweep got home, had contractions for 3/4 hours and then nothing. I'm so fed up. I can't believe I'm still pregnant 😖 but I'm worried now, I have 4 other children who I need to look after, they were with family last night and will be until Saturday but then what? If I'm expected to be in and out of the hospital everyday, my youngest is 1 I can't just leave her with family for days 😔 also I read it is dangerous to leave twins of any kind past 38 weeks ... I am 38 weeks tomorrow so why am I being left to trail to and from the hospital everyday for sweeps 🫣 I'm just so fed up. This has been a long, hard pregnancy and I thought it was finally coming to an end when I got my induction date, now the end seems further away than ever before 😪😪

Congratulations on your twins. That's going to be a heck of a story for twin 2 when they're older! Hope you're recovering well and everyone has settled in with the new additions.

I don't think it is.

Most inductions take days and days. You might just as well wait to go into labour.

I think it depends I was induced with mcda twins, 35+6, at around 8pm, cervix closed just with a pessary both twins were born by 4am. I think you only hear the horror stories. It's very straight forward for lots of women

Congratulations OP!!

They're both doing well, one twin we think may have cows milk intolerance so that's a bit of a battle at the minute trying to get her sorted out with correct milk and things. The bigger of the two is a dream I don't even know I've got her it's eat sleep and repeat 🤣 but the smaller one has struggled since birth with colic , reflux now possible intolerance so she's had it bad from the start with her being born by emcs it's all been a shock for her I think. Twin 1 was natural 2 pushes and done, they're completely different in looks and personality but both absolutely brilliant and I can't imagine a time before them now 💕

Amazing isn't it how it works out like that.

They both sound utterly adorable. Are you managing to get out with them much at all? It sounds a bit full on, especially with DT2 possibly having CMPA Flowers

Furthest we've been so far is round to my mums house in the car for a cup of tea! It's hard work with twin 2 being so unsettled she hates the car seat she hates the pram so for now that's the furthest we'll go 😅 I got some milk on prescription for her yesterday and can already see a difference in the rash she had on her face so hoping this is the start of a new chapter and she'll be a lot happier then we'll be able to get out and see the world 🤞

Glad that the new milk is helping and I don't blame you at all for only making it to your Mums. I had my first, single, baby and didn't make it out at all for 2 weeks.
