Question about SPD and sleep/comfort long time after birth...

I had (undiagnosed) SPD in my pregnancy which was very painful. I could barely walk for the last couple of months, but one of the most difficult things was being unable to sleep, because I couldn't get comfortable in bed - would wake up every couple of hours feeling sort of paralysed if that makes sense... It all got a lot worse as my legs were in stirrups for over an hour during labour, and I think a lot of damage was done. Now that was 16 months ago. I've been seeing a chiropractor since August last year who re-aligns my pelvis every time I see her. I still get a lot of pain down my left side (it feels like the muscle in my buttock has been pulled too tightly if that makes sense) but the pelvic pain has gone. I still find that I can't get comfortable in bed though. I always used to sleep on my front, but there is no way I can do this any more - too painful. I can't get to sleep on my back, and find that if I'm on my side it begins to hurt and wakes me up. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm considering buying a mattress topper - our mattress is quite firm and I don't think this helps. Don't know if that will really help though. Sorry for long post!

yes definately try a matress topper as i have one and would not be without it, your back needs more support than a firm matress can give it.

when you sleep your body should be relaxed, if its not you have the wrong matress.

have you tried osteopathy? pilates? yoga?
