Hiya! I’m looking to know have any of you gave birth (vaginal) after having a C-section?

I had my beautiful baby 8 months ago and already thinking about another 😳 We won’t start trying for another bit yet but I definitely would be interest to know the following.

I was induced with my baby as I had gestational diabetes and it ended in a C-section. I was really hoping to go into labour myself naturally before being induced and avoiding a C-section. I’m really nervous that for my next baby I’ll need to be induced or have a C-section I would love to go into labour myself naturally and then give birth via vagina.

so for those who has had a C-section what your your next baby’s birth story? Id be interested to know ! Thank you x

First was an emergency c section after a failed 7 day induction my second was a planned c section as they didn’t want me to go over my due date so had c section at 40 plus 1 but if I had gone into labour naturally before this they would of let me has her naturally! They worry about scar rupture with a second birth! My planned c section was so much nicer than the emergency and I’m glad I had one!

I did. I had to be I induced as I went way past due date but it was fine. I think if it hadn't been a bank holiday weekend they would have just done a c section.

I had a VBAC, absolutely perfect birth for my second.

I had emergency section first time round, then Vbac with forceps/episotomy second time. Went into labour naturally both times. With second I stayed at home as long as I could so didn’t get to hospital til I was 8cm. Did have a date in the diary for a section for the second but baby had other ideas! The forceps birth was 100 times more positive than the emergency section

I had an emergency c section with my first, then a natural birth with my second five years later. To be honest, my second labour wasn't great - I tore badly but that was due to my son's enormous head, and nothing to do with my previous section.

Even with the tears, I found recovery much better than after the section, which was my main reason for wanting a natural birth.

Emcs due to undiagnosed back to back footling breech with my first.
3 years later, with my second, I started VBAC, ended up with a crash section under GA due to uterine rupture and haemorrhage.

There is a risk of uterine rupture and bleeding with a vbac but it's fairly small. I had a c section 4 years ago. Not emergency as such, 36 hours after hospital admission with a spinal block as I had preeclampsia. I don't like the unknowns with a vaginal birth so I have another planned c section booked in for 2 weeks time. I don't want the risk of bad vaginal tears and incontinence with a vbac either, or an emergency section under GA.

EMC first baby as failure to progress and over 24 hours since waters went (36 hours before the c section as they let me keep trying). Baby was head deflexed eg not tucked down so it was unlikely baby would have ever easily made it down the birth canal.

desperately wanted a VBAC and went to birth centre etc but baby in distress and bradiacardic (heart rate plummeted) and went in for a crash section under GA within minutes

third will be an elective yay! I want a calmer experience

My first was an emergency section due to meconium in the waters. Had my second 20 months later VBAC on my due date. I had a longer labour second time round, unexpected bleeding lead to an episiotomy and forceps during which I haemorrhaged and lost a lot of blood. Needless to say my emergency section was my easier recovery! The haemorrhage seemed to be unexplained though and they didn’t say it was linked to my previous section. The doctor said I would have a good chance of a positive VBAC in the future (but no more babies for me!!) so they obviously weren’t concerned re my scar.
