Is there such a thing as too much foetal movement?

37+4 today, baby is going absolutely fecking bananas and it’s really quite painful. It’s like he’s pushing down with his head, up with his feet, and out with his elbows and knees, all at the same time.

Please get checked out OP. The advice is that any change to your baby’s movement should be investigated- this includes more movement as well as less. Please phone your maternity ward.

I would go in to be checked, if it’s not normal for you it could be a sign of distress.

I'm sure it's fine but I would ring triage for advice and piece of mind. Anything that is a change to YOUR baby should be checked

I asked my midwife about this recently as online most info is about reduced movements. She said to get checked out as it can be a sign of distress, but not as well publicised.

I don't want to worry you OP but I had alarmingly increased movements and when I went in my blood pressure was sky high and baby was very distressed. In my case I felt it was baby telling me something.

Is think it depends if it's a change in movement or normal for this pregnancy. One of mine felt like they were trying to claw and kick their way out, but it was like that from early on. If in doubt check it out is always a good adage for pregnancy and when they're babies and toddlers.
