Those who have had a vbac, what gestation was your baby born?

Hi all,

I am 22+2 with my 2nd and really wanted a vbac. I am doing my research this time (1st I was induced at 39 weeks for ‘big baby’ which led to an unplanned c section at 39+2).

I came across evidence that the teeny tiny chance of a stillbirth in vaginal birth with no previous cesarian is around 42 weeks mark, this chance is the same but is from 39 weeks with a previous cesarian🤯 Now this figure is so small that most people’s decision wouldn’t be affected at all but my autistic brain is stuck on this piece of info and is making me doubt letting myself go much further over 39 weeks which is making my chance of going into labour myself practically impossible (I 100% will not be agreeing to induction this time).

so basically anyone who has had a vbac, at what gestation did you have your baby? I
am hoping hearing quite a few stories of women having a sucessful vbac after 39 weeks will make the statisitic i can’t get out of my head, not feel like such a massive thing to me anymore! Thanks for reading!

Arrived suddenly at 35 weeks. Took the decision out of my hands! Whole labour took 5 hours start to finish. First one took 2 days and ended in EMCS. My two births are like they happened to a different person so don’t assume it will be the same as the first.

I had pre eclampsia and was induced at 37 weeks and had VBAC

Vbac 1 at 40wks+1, spontaneous labour, forceps delivery.
Vbac 2 at 37 wks, spontaneous labour and very easy delivery.
ELCs with baby 1 and 3.
They monitor you well during vbacs so at no point was I concerned. My vbac 1 ended as forceps as I'd been in labour for 22hours and it had slowed to the point I was in theatre being prepared for a section when they checked one last time and asked me to cough...voila!

Thank you so much to everyone’s replies! So many stories to take into consideration! I think my biggest fear is going for a vbac and ending up in another unplanned csection. Maybe in my case, my better option is to book in for an elcs. I was 4 days in hospital with literally no sleep - 2 days before having dd and 2 days after and it didn’t give me a great start as a ftm… I was shattered, couldnt eat for days as anytime i did i gagged (could have been a mix of the pain killers and being so overwhelmed and traumatised😅) so maybe a planned cesarian is for me but will definitely discuss it all over with my consultant on the 4th dec!

I had a successful vbac at 40+5. My previous delivery was EMCS at 40+4.

Forgot to say, both were spontaneous Labour and the previous EMCS was due to an awkward presentation.
