terrible tummy...what do I do about the birth

I'm 38 weeks now, (TMI warning) have had chronic diarrhea for 2 weeks. Samples all came back absolutely clear, dr and midwife say it's hormonal. Besides being uncomfortable, tiring and horrid, this obviously means my water birth is out the window. How do I deal with all this? Surely there must be something I can do? Even the thought of giving birth while I'm like this is making me cry non-stop today.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Firstly, it might have all cleared up by the time you go into labour and if not, have they suggested something to empty your bowels at the start? I know they don't routinely give these anymore but I guess they might in your circumstances.

Please try not to worry though - midwives have seen everything and they'll help you so you're not embarassed.

In the mean time, try to relax and listen to some soothing music/get a book/ watch movies etc so that your body relaxes in time for the birth.

{{{{Hugs}}} if it helps, both times I've given birth, I've had a damn good clear out at the start, then that's been it.

Saw very nice midwife this morning who got a dr to listen to me and made them give me something for it so that if nothing else I can heal up a bit for a few days(getting v sore). She seems to think it's too much progesterone and that there isn't much I can do. Going to see acupuncturist on Monday...may help.
