I had a botched elective c section in December 22. Has anyone got any experience in getting compensation from the NHS?
Id want to pursue this with a law firm on a no win, no fee basis. Anyone got any recommendations/help?
Thanks!

Hi Op I'm sorry to hear that you've been through this, I also suffered negligence when giving birth and I did speak to a no win no fee solicitor, I went through all the paper work etc was told I had a good case initially but was then told they didn't think they'd get enough compensation to make it worth their while so it didn't go any further.

They did tell me to try another firm but I didn't have the mental and physical energy to go through it all again so I didn't bother. I also found the paper work that I got from the maternity unit after I asked for the notes had a lot of lies in it which made it out like it wasn't their fault and more mine that I sustained the injuries that I incurred.

I hope you are ok xx

It will depend why it was "botched" as to whether they will be interested.

Have you complained to the Trust already and had a complaint response?

You need to have a clear case as to how and why it was 'botched'. That's not a legally recognised term.

I looked into this but was told it would take years and years, I needed closure before then and couldn't face it dragging on that long.

ive made a complaint and waiting on a response. Ive been told by two different suregeons one who preformed my repair surgery that the reg who preformed my c section was negligent.

I used a local firm but have heard good things about Irwin Mitchell as well. Mine was on a no win no fee basis, my trust accepted fault right away and it was all settled within a year. I didn’t get too much money but it was good to get an apology for the additional pain I suffered
