Balloon induction - can labour progress naturally afterwards?

Hello
I’m looking for people’s experiences with balloon induction, particularly where the balloon was successful and fell out on its own.

Did you need further intervention afterwards like waters breaking and drip or can labour progress naturally for some people after this?

Thanks

Did bugger all for me. Wasn't unpleasant. Just did nothing. And that was after pessary and gel. Ended up with a c-section.

Yes worked for me! Balloon fell out after about 20 hours, then labour progressed naturally and was relatively quick in the end (approx 6 hours). A good experience all round, good luck!

@HopelessOptimistism this is great to read as I’ve had one fall out a few hours ago…nothing else has happened yet though! 🤞🏼

Hi OP. I gave birth to my third DC on Sunday night. Had the balloon put in at 9am. Fell out at 4pm that day and I was also having contractions. Was 4cm dilated when I returned to the hospital, had my my waters broke at 6pm, then had him at 9.33pm! So it worked well for me and I was very relieved to avoid hormone induction. All the best and good luck!

Put me in the "did bugger all" column.

As did sweeps, breaking my waters and everything that wasn't actual induction drugs.

Either your body is ready or not.
