Pain after an hour in stirrups

Hi all

I had my little boy 2.5 weeks ago, I was induced at 40+3 due to my age and 2 days later he arrived. To cut a long story short I was in stirrups for an hour, episiotomy/birth/getting stitched up.
I felt very bow legged for days afterwards, did not feel safe carrying the baby etc. I feel much better now but my right leg still doesn't feel like it belongs to me. Not painful exactly but not very steady. The midwife thinks the stirrups might have been uneven, hence the problem. She recommended asking the GP at my 6week check up. But I am contemplating physio, has anyone had any experience of this?

Many thanks in advance for any insight.

You need to have a look at this website and follow their directions for manual therapy:
Pelvic Partnership

Go for private women's physio. Don't leave it to get worse or remain unresolved.

I know every trust is different but my postnatal care was terrible, even the physio they did offer was not bad.

I don't know anyone else personally who would say any different.

Thank you so much all, you have definitely motivated me to get it sorted and see a physio!

This would be normal post birth for me and I suffered no long term issues. I have no idea if that’s dumb luck or I’d have been better with physio.

Yes lithotomy can do that.
