Giving birth to a big baby after a small one..

DD was born 6lb5, a forceps delivery, born after induction at 37+0. I’m type 1 diabetic but luckily she didn’t follow the growth pattern of a ‘diabetes baby’ and was an average size all over.
Currently 32+4 with DS, scan today put him at 5lb6 🤯 I’m being induced at 37 weeks again but if he keeps growing like this he could be 8lb+.

I suppose I’m looking for reassuring words and stories because I’m now worried about how on Earth I’m going to push him out when I needed
forceps with my first 😱 should I ask for a caesarean?

I had a small 6lbr first time round and my second was 11lb 4.

Ask for a cesarean if that's how you would prefer to deliver your baby.

My first was 8lb 4oz, I had an episiotomy, full 2hour pushing stage and pph.Second was 9lb 2oz, I was induced and she was out in 4 hours and 3 pushes!

My second was 3lbs heavier than my first!

Labour was longer but surprisingly I didn’t need any stitching, unlike with DC1.

You can ask for a CS if you want one though!

Your second delivery is completely different to your first. Your body knows what it’s doing this time!

I had a 5lb 13oz baby (2nd baby) followed by a huge almost 10lb’er (3rd baby) and although the larger baby was harder to push out, the most difficult one by a long stretch was my 7lb first born! He took 3+ hrs of pushing.

I know quite a few people who had their second baby on the bathroom floor because they didn’t rush into hospital and thought they had more time. Second babies don’t mess about.
