Advice needed!

First time posting etc as just looking for advice!

I have a consultant appt and will be 37 weeks at the weekend, I am asking for (and have had agreed provisionally an elective c section) - I have ptsd after having my son during Covid and nearly dying after.

My question is how likely is it I can get my c section date before 39 weeks? I’ve had 2 episodes of reduced fetal movement in the last week, was admitted to hospital for 24 hours as my blood pressure has started to rise and had some high readings before coming down with meds and had IUGR which is looking likely again this time around - baby dropped from 50/40/30 centile in repeated scans (haven’t had 36 week scan yet) I don’t think it’s unreasonable of me to ask to be booked in slightly earlier, I have a awful headache that isn’t going away and I just want to set my expectations as really don’t know if I can’t put up with feeling like this for another 2 and a bit weeks.
Please no bashing but any advice would be amazing.
Thank you so much!

You had high blood pressure and you have headaches, are you sure you don’t have preeclampsia?! Have they tested your urine for protein? I’m not sure if you definitely need to get protein in urine, or if only the 2 symptoms you have are sufficient to diagnose you.

regarding your positive growth scan, I had IUGR, good scan at 38 after bad scan at 36, but the 40 week scan showed the same as the 36 one and my baby indeed had stopped growing for 4 weeks :(. She was born at 2nd percentile, healthy, put weight after.

so your good news scan might be wrong, I was very happy too until I realised she must have been starving the last 4 weeks, she was just bones.

I think you can definitely call and ask for a date for 38 or between 38-39. Call the midwife and see what she can do. Good luck x

If you have preeclampsia they might give you a CS asap a matter of urgency.

The problem is that giving birth at 38 weeks has higher risks of neonatal death compared to 39 and 40 weeks.

So unless there is a good medical reason to do so it's not recommended.

Had pre eclampsia with my last that didn’t present traditionally, was tested when in yesterday and had a 1+ for protein but they didn’t seem that concerned, they spoke that it sounds like it may be the beginning of pre eclampsia and I am sitting at around 144/100 for BP but again they said that’s not too high and as I have consultant tomorrow to see what she says. Just feeling like my health is declining!

Tbh I'd ring the labour ward now. Is the headache new?

It sounds like you definitely have preeclampsia again. It’s a serious condition, what did your consultant say?
