I sound so cheery!

This is just my experience. tbh if my last hadnt have gone the way it did i know i would have been v tempted to go for no 5!

moljam · 06/02/2008 14:19

thats awful sugar!
fio thanks for link-thats basically what consultant said.and what you said about worst case etc-he said to think how id cope.its so hard though isnt it-i mean ive not had bowel damage so how do i know how it would affect my life.

dont worry about all the 'cheery souls' stuf- i need to know and want to know.i dont want to get pregnant and then wish someone had warned me!

Ive had five with no problems whatsoever. However before getting pg with no4 (no5 an accident) I went to see my obs consultant with the attitude that if he said he would not recommend it i would follow that advice. He siad there were some increased risks but basically if i'd be ok previously i should be ok again.
would recommend this as I found it very useful later when midwives were a bit snotty with me to say that i'd done this, was fully aware of the risks and there was a letter in the notes

best of luck

Things can go wrong whether it's your first csec or your seventh. The level of going wrong can also vary enormously. Trolleydolly's point on 4th may be true for some people and not for others. Like most things with childbirth, a large element will depend on luck, who's attending you, the acre you receive and your natural resilience.

Your consultant says it's fine and s/he knows more more than the gp.

At the end of the day it's your decision. If you put the question out on a public forum everyone will chip in with their and their friend's experiences some good, some bad. However, you are not them or their friends and have to take the decision based on your own situation and the actual info you've gathered that relates to you. No one else can make that decision for you.

moljam · 22/02/2008 10:20

thanks-very true.

'If you put the question out on a public forum everyone will chip in with their and their friend's experiences some good, some bad.'

  • i know thats what i want-i dont want someone i do know telling me what they think i want to here.i need to know good and bad.

it would be nice if someone could look in to future and say youll be fine or no dont do it wouldnt it

*I had 3 sections and am very small and not overweight. At my last section, I was told I could not have anymore due to adverse scar tissue and that was with 6 years between sections. The surgeon didn't have to use a scalple to open up my scar, he just pushed his finger through - he said that if it had been a few hours later, both ds and I would not have survived. I'd love another one but am listening to my consultant on this one and want to be around for my other 3 kids. **

crumbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
