Hello everyone! I live in the borough of Bromley, in zone 4 south east London. My due date is mid-2023 and it will be my first.

I am deliberating between the following hospitals to register at:
Princess Royal (PRUH),
Queen Mary's Sidcup,

King's College Denmark Hill,

Guys & St Thomas.

I only saw old reviews on here from ten years ago so I am looking for more recent experiences from these hospitals, and if anyone would recommend or not recommend? Thanks!

Pruh offer the option to have scans done at the fetal medicine unit at King's who offer an extra scan at 35 weeks and free harmony test if you meet certain criteria.

staff at pruh are lovely too.

I had DC2 at the PRUH not long ago. It was an ELCS so I don’t know what it is like to deliver there naturally but I’ve got to say that postnatally they were lovely. I’d had a very bad postnatal experience at Croydon a few years before so was very worried second time around. I just found the midwives and student midwives at the PRUH really lovely, and they often went above and beyond. Also you can have one person stay with you on the postnatal ward for the duration which I know not every trust allows even now. The only thing they don’t allow is visitors beyond your one person.

You'll find good and bad at all hospitals.

The PRUH is absolutely fine (had a homebirth with them last year but went in afterwards) and you will have all your scans at the King's Fetal Medicine Research centre in Camberwell so best if both worlds.

You really, really want to be at your closest hospital for appointments and delivery.

St Thomas. I had DD2 there. Lovely staff and facilities. I had a water birth suite overlooking the Thames and Westminster. They also have a lovely birthing floor for pregnant women to hang out/labour in.
