Evening all 😊

I'm looking for any similar stories to give me an idea of what to expect please!

Dd2 is 9 months. I was induced, but failed induction due to failure to progress and had to have an emcs (I had multiple pessaries, waters were broken and was put on the drip for 9 hours - didn't get past 1cm dilated, though fully effaced). It came to light that my cervix would not dilate due to scar tissue following a previous leep procedure 3 years ago.

I have (very unexpectedly) recently found out I am pregnant again. I assumed I would have to have a planned c section but after doing a bit of reading have seen that it is possible to release the scar tissue if the scar tissue is 'massaged out' during labour. I would really prefer to avoid another c section if possible and will be discussing my options with my consultant in January.

In the meantime I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this and whether they went on to try and have a vaginal delivery and whether it worked out/there were problems etc? I really appreciate any stories you can share, thank you 😊

Not the same degree but I had a scar on my cervix from where it tore during childbirth. Subsequent births it didn't tear again or cause any problems. I know my situation is quite different but since you haven't got any replies yet, I thought I'd offer that.

Thanks very much @lifeinthehills 😊

Again not the same experience, I had a large tear from my first in the cervix area but the second time I had no tearing. I did have what they nurse called the STOMP procedure where they used a warm wet towel to help the skin stretch, so not sure if it's a similar method. I hope someone can help but otherwise have you asked your midwife what it involves. All people I know who had one c section never went natural after as they preferred the c section experience, so I cannot ask around.

Thanks @Raindancer411 I'll look up the stomp procedure 👍
