I had my 20 week scan a few weeks ago and my already high risk pregnancy (preeclampsia risk and clotting risk) already has me on blood thinners and advised aspirin)I am allergic to aspirin) they said I have a high left uterine artery pi in the 97 th percentile which puts me at risk for preeclampsia, clots, low birth weight, spontaneous labour and abruption. I have an appointment on the 24th which I will be 25 weeks and a scan an appointment at 28 weeks. A 34 week and a 36 week scan, midwife appointments starting in the 20th every two weeks. I know that my high risk pregnancy just got a bit more high risk. Does this mean that we’re definitely going to have a c section?
I’m a planner and I like being mentally prepared

Hi, sorry to hear you have had such a lot to deal with this pregnancy. I would say that it's probably too early to tell, but ask your midwife at your next appointment. There are many factors that could determine whether you need a c section, such as if you did develop moderate to severe pre eclampsia, or placental abruption. If going into spontaneous labour was going to put you at high risk for placental abruption then that may be another reason. Baby's growth will be monitored at scans also and they may induce you if there are any concerns on growth but it really depends on many factors- hence the 2 weekly monitoring.

I really hope that none of these issues pan out and you have a smooth pregnancy, the regular monitoring will ensure yours and baby's health is put first. Take care x
