My 36 week scan is this coming Friday, just seen MW who told me baby is breech, she said at the scan they will offer to turn the baby, I have already decided against this, not just because of what google says but just inmy own head, I know that ELCS will be given as an option if they are still breech at this stage is that correct? this is 2nd baby. anyone had their babies turn on their own before 36 weeks?

thank you

My 3rd was breech at 35 weeks and had turned himself when I went back for another scan at 36 weeks.

My second one was turning somersaults by week 36: how engaged are they? It's a bit early to worry I think.

I think you need to be about 38 weeks before they consider the section?

@TimeforZeroes thank you, so will there be more frequent midwife apps so they can monitor position? I dont want to labour naturally with breech position due to complications

No. No extra checks. But if you do go into labour, phone the labour ward immediately. You'll be told to come in and have a scan to check position. If head down, you can continue. If still breech, then emergency C-section.

Anecdotally, my DC2 was breech at 36 week scan. He turned by himself at 36+5. Apparently second+ children are more likely to turn later, which proved true in my case.
