Yes I used them at this stage and it was fine...I was more worried they might fall out though

RGPargy · 25/01/2008 19:01

Haha!! must admit the thought has crossed my mind too lol.

thankfully my periods didn't return for months and months

i think (especially first time round) I'd have been way too tender to contemplate them at 7 weeks postnatal

Hulababy · 25/01/2008 19:05

I was told I could use them once my normal periods arrived, just not with the lochia type bleeding.

JoanCrawford · 25/01/2008 19:07

Wow, you're brave. I'm sure it's fine if you're happy to. Little tip though, don't sneeze!

RGPargy · 25/01/2008 19:08

It's deffo not postnatal bleeding so i'm assuming it's a period. Boo hiss. I've been without a period for nearly a year now and i was really liking it!

Hi RGP.

I waited until I had had 2-3 definite periods iirc as I was worried about using them again.

How is that lovely baby doing?

RGPargy · 25/01/2008 19:11

Hi NAB how are you?

I cant stand the thought of using towels again. I hated using them postnatally.

DD is doing wonderfully thanx. Putting on loads of weight and now weighs 10lb 3oz.

Email me when you're up for a coffee.

I am shattered but just about to go the pictures with a friend.

I haven't used tampons for a few months now. Have developed a phobia about them

Will do.

lilimama · 29/01/2008 13:31

is it the risk of infection that makes them unsafe to use postnatally? Had CS so they do stay in and have used them a couple of times just in order to sleep naked in bed for once with DP, missed naked so much, goddam big nickers and towel things. yuck as it it's not all bad enough already, rips and scars and full of holes. just wondering....

Lulumama · 29/01/2008 13:33

i think until you have the 6 week check, they are to be avoid, whatever the mode of delivery. the bleeding post natally is from the site the placenta was, so it is a wound, and needs time to heal and for everything in the uterus to get out....am willing to be corrected if i am wrong !

you can get thin towels, i did when i had DD , that were more like regular sanitary pads, thin, with wings, that fitted in regular knickers.

I used them in the end - so far so good!

i used them but found i neede ones with an applicator to get them in far enough.

couldn't use lillets as they ended up lodged sideways

RGPargy · 01/02/2008 18:02

LOL!! I hate lilets and any other non-applicator tampon. I find them quite uncomfortable to use.
