Opting for early induction

Hi,
Has anyone requested an early induction?
I am thinking of 38/39 weeks.

i have had to stop taking some cancer medication whilst pregnant and I’m really anxious about being able to start taking it again as soon as possible.

Is this a reasonable request do you think?

Nhs won’t induce until 39 weeks unless a medical reason and it sounds like you could have a good reason but only way to know is to speak to consultant. Would 1-2 extra weeks make all that much difference to you ? But it would to baby the difference between coming at 38 weeks to 40 weeks is a big difference for baby.

I know women having had their babies at 37 weeks due to gestational diabetes or other issues and babies were all fine, didn’t need any extra time in hospital or extra help.
you’re considered at term at 37 weeks.
talk to your doctor, they can take a scan of the baby , see how it’s developing and also asses your condition.
if you need meds for cancer, it’s serious and I wouldn’t delay.
