I’m 37 weeks and today I was out shopping and I felt a trickle. Like a period trickle, I decided I should find a bathroom so on my way to the bathroom I had 2 more trickles, I decided to put my hand down there on my leggings which were wet!! I got to the bathroom and my underwear had a large wet patch and my leggings did too! I emptied my bladder and went and sat down for half an hour to have some lunch. Nothing more happened so we headed home and I began having contractions on the bus! We got home and I was contracting quite quickly but they were not painful, I rested on my bed and rbey fizzled out and stopped. I then got a huge urge to tidy the whole house! That started 5 hours ago iv just stopped now as it’s 8pm.

iv had a few contractions in the last hour but iv not been timing them as they were not painful.

what was happening? Is it early labour starting then stalling ?
was my water leaking or urine?
if it was labour can I get it going again?

37 weeks isn’t early labour but if you think your waters are leaking you need to go to the hospital to be monitored

FusionChefGeoff · 08/09/2022 20:04

I'd try and go to bed if I were you as if it all kicks off soon you'd wished you slept properly that night (voice of bitter experience speaking!)

SummerBummers · 08/09/2022 20:06

If you think your waters have been leaking you need to go to the hospital regardless of whether labour is starting or not

Changemaname1 · 08/09/2022 20:06

You need to contact the hospital , if your waters have broken you need to be monitored !

unlike the films it doesn’t all just come out at once my waters were coming out with every contraction which were quite far apart !

gratefulheart · 08/09/2022 20:07

Yes this sounds like your hind waters, happened to me, needed to have the baby within 48 hours for risk of infection

Changemaname1 · 08/09/2022 20:08

Yes , as I recall ( was a long time ago now ) they wanted the baby out within the day as my waters had broken. Ignore people saying go try sleep and ring the hospital!

MrsR87 · 08/09/2022 20:08

You should call the hospital as they need to know if you think your waters have broken. They will probably want to monitor you.

BlueBunny23 · 08/09/2022 20:29

I did call the hospital they told me to put a pad on and lay down for 30mins then stand up and see if anymore came Out. I did this when I got home and nothing more came out

Still no more leaks it’s been 28 hours. Random bouts of contractions that keep stopping. Does anyone know what this is?

I would go to the hospital and ask them to check you over, you could be slowly dilating

notonl · 09/09/2022 18:11

I would be going to be checked following that history- would have gone yesterday. Sorry but that's lazy behaviour from whoever spoke to you on the phone- please go in.

If your waters have broken or there is a slow leak your baby is at risk of serious infection.

gratefulheart · 09/09/2022 20:05

Op please update us when you can so that we know that all is well

Levellingdown · 10/09/2022 00:53

She doesn’t need to update strangers @gratefulheart it’s not a soap opera

gratefulheart · 10/09/2022 06:08

That's was unnecessary, I have been worrying about her and wan ted to check in

Robin233 · 10/09/2022 06:19

I woke in the early morning at 33 weeks with a wet patch in bed
Straight to the hospital
I continued to trickle' through out the day.
Baby was born after 10 pm that night.
Hope you're ok.

MrsClarkandPercy · 10/09/2022 07:01

If your waters may have partially broken (which is what it sounds like), you must go straight in to the maternity ward and be monitored, because now the baby needs to be born within a certain amount of time, as I understand. Due to less amniotic fluid, and the sealed environment now being opened.

Just go in.

Levellingdown · 10/09/2022 13:45

@gratefulheart no you have not

gratefulheart · 10/09/2022 13:48

Levellingdown · 10/09/2022 13:45

@gratefulheart no you have not

Sorry what???
The same thing happened to me years ago
I commented on this post at the beginning and have been coming back to check
You don't need to be so mean

Levellingdown · 10/09/2022 13:45

@gratefulheart no you have not

You also don't know what I'm thinking or not thinking about. Don't divert the importance of this post

BlueBunny23 · 11/09/2022 15:15

I spent yesterday at the hospital had an examination. As I was contracting on the monitor. Waters intact and not dilated much 1/2cm which they said is quite normal at this stage.
all this aching pains is the beginning of the end they said. So I’m hoping not much longer for me

So pleased you are ok, take the last couple of weeks easy!

autumnboys · 11/09/2022 16:32

Please take your temperature daily and report any rise to your midwife. I was not advised to do this in a very similar position and was told afterwards I should have been.
