I didn't have any pain really after my EMCS, but do take the drugs and keep on top of them regularly so they don't completely wear off.

As agonising as it sounds, stay as mobile as possible, I was out of bed as soon as catheter was out and I didn't lie down at all unless I was sleeping. When I did sleep I slept with the bed in quite an upright position so it was easy to get out of bed to the baby. I went home the next morning so getting off the sofa was a bit of a mission as it's really soft but again I tried to move around a lot - I really think it aids recovery but gentle movement only!

Fibroids are so so painful during pregnancy 😫. It's tiring but keep on asking for pain relief on a regular basis and to try and have something before it gets bad.

For your first poo, get a maternity towel and press and hold up the bit between your vagina and bumhole for support x

How are you feeling this morning?

I was on the morphine drivers where you press the button for morphine (but I had been unconscious in intensive care for about 24 hours and intubated. So maybe that's why!) I assumed everyone had that 😆

When I came round I had to cough because of the tubes in my throat. The pain was shattering.

Definitely ask for morphine.

Aw bless you, hope the painkillers have kicked in and you’re resting up. Mine was elective so I was very much prepared for the whole thing and they are far more gentle when they have as long as they like to do it, which is bound to make recovery easier! When you go home just be so so careful when getting up from your own bed as it really doesn’t take much to get that awful pulling feeling. I slept in my pregnancy pillow in the end up so I was propped up and it was much easier to swing my legs round

I had an emcs 22 years ago I was 42 weeks and due to be induced but I went into labour beforehand I was in labour for so long but nothing happened, baby was in distress so they rushed me for an emergency as his heartbeat was going. I opted for GA so was not aware of what was going on I was only 17 so very young.
I stayed in hospital a week and I was in so much pain first few days I definitely tried to stay on top of painkillers. I was fine once I was out though and walking about ok and could look after my baby fine after a week. I'm due an elective c section in 2 weeks time and I'm dreading it as il be awake but sure il be fine.
