Does having an anterior or posterior placenta make any difference to the birth?

i.e. to the speed or 'comfort' of it? Does anyone have any experiences of having a differently positioned placenta in each of their pregnancies?

The only diff it might make I guess is if you have c section they may like to know in advance. Also, some people say they don't feel the baby kick so much if anterior (like a cushion I suppose). I had one of each and can't say I noticed much difference. Now, if it's low lying that is a different story...

ah yes - mine is currently low lying posterior but as I'm only 15 weeks, there is plenty of time for it to move up..... First birth, the placenta was anterior.

Anterior placenta (which I had for DD) increases chances of a posterior lie cos baby will tend to face the placenta, so back labour can be an issue.
