God i can't tell you how fed up i am..

I'm 38+3 and yesterday at 4pm i started havind contractions. They were coming about every 7/12 mins, so no real pattern. This continued through the night when they peaked at about 8 am, they got to 1 min long and were every 6/7 mins. I have rang delivery suite and they said this was normal and labour can stop/start i also had a bit of a show (no blood) and went to the loo 3 times this morning for a no 2 (sorry if tmi)

Has anybody else had this? could it be because baby is back to back?

Thank you in advance x

oh god yes. They called me 1cm at the hospital! Was having contractions may be four days before he came. Had a show too. Waters started to leak around his head so they admitted me. I can tell you i walked miles trying to get him to drop! They eventually induced me. First with pessary which did not work. Then drip. Took nearly two days and i ended up having forceps. I know its hard and you cant wait to see baby but try to relax. Have a bath. Avoid induction. Enjoy peace why you can! Oh and sleep!

This must be sooo frustrating!! And I can imagine that it is no consolation to be told that it is quite common!!

Hope things happen for you soon.

any news?

leesmum · 19/01/2008 12:52

Hi thanks for your messages

No contractions anymore had a couple in the night but nothing major. I feel like baby cant possibly get any lower and i ache a lot in my groin and the top of my legs, but that might be from all the pains i was having. Anyway i'm off for a walk with ds now to stop myself from going stir-crazy,

Thanks again for taking the trouble to post, and here's hoping baby will get a move on sooner rather than later xxx

i would rest, chill, and wait for your body to let you know that labour is here... pre labour and BH can be frustrating, but all these contractions and twinges are doing something, to prepare your cervix and uterus for labour, to get baby into a better position.... don't be disheartened... true labour does not stop until the baby is born, it can pause, but will always restart, so think of this as a practice run !

if this is your first, then use these last few days/ weeks to relax, to prepare yourself and to enjoy time to yourself and resting !

if baby is back to back, then labour might be a bit slower to get started and dilation might be slower, have a look at www.spinningbabies.com and avoid labouring on your back or being immobile
