I am starting to panic, 11 more sleeps and the baby gets pulled out, but am praying that my horrid flu like lurgy thing will have gone and am in a better state.

Anyone go in for their section/birth feeling like death warmed up and manage to get through the early days?!

Sorry can't help but hope you feel better soon.

My only advice would be to try to focus on things that you enjoy doing. Like having a lie in, or having a long warm bath, or eating en entire pack of jam dodgers.

Take it easy

get some arnica pillules in to start taking as soon as you are in recovery

line up all the favours of meals, housework, etc in advance so that you don't have to lift a finger except to deal with baby and enjoy your babymoon

Oh yes..... I was due for my c-section on a monday, on sat night DD1 was up all night throwing up (oh the joys of washing dried sick out of my hair at 5am when she finally went to sleep). On the sunday DH went down with it. On the Monday morning he could hardly get out of bed to drive me to the hospital and was constantly being sick so they wouldn't let him into theatre with me. I was feeling terrible - not so much from the bug (which I didn't get) but from no sleep for the previous 48 hrs and no husband accompanying me in to have the baby which made me v sad. Nonetheless the birth was fabulous and the adrenalin rush from having DD2 was amazing and pushed everything else away. I asked the hospital to let me stay in an extra day though as I had no desire to rush back to my plague carrying family!!

Try not to worry!! 11 days really is PLENTY of time to recover from whatever lurgy you have and in the early days you will be so buoyed up with excitement and adrenalin you'll forget all about it.

Oh poor you NellyTheElephant!
You are right 11 (now 9 sleeps!) is enough time to recover, but seems like Nov since I didn't have some sort of coldy thing and this time has been the worst. When I see MW tomorrow I will try and not breathe when those with the norovirus turn up for sick leave notes.. anyone see the programme recently that covered how surgeries may say keep away, many are not because their companies insist on sick letters!!
Am sure all will be ok, keep having the odd panic
