Elective C-section

I have 2 daughters first was a forcep delivery and episiotomy. Second I had a 3 degree tear.

I am 32 weeks pregnant and seen consultant today. He asked am I having a elective C-section due to the tear last time and both being big babies (9lb. 12 & 9lb 2) I am having growth scans every two weeks but next isn't until 36 weeks.
I didn't know it was an option. I've come home read some things online and I'm really unsure of what to opt for.

Anyone got any advice or experience?
Thanks

I had an elective csection and will have another when we have baby number 2. Yes the initial recovery was painful but I was okay with paracetamol and ibuprofen, as long as you keep on top of them and move around then it’s okay.

My csection was calm and lovely. Despite not being able to feel my legs obviously, I felt in control. All very planned, staff were fantastic. I’ve always had a fear of childbirth which is why I chose to have a csection and like I say I’ll have another csection with the next baby.

Oh and to add - we had my own playlist playing, I got skin to skin as soon as he came out and put him on the boob. It was lovely!

I had an elective c section after having a long labour, forceps delivery and 3rd degree year with my first. I actually found the c section a lot easier to recover from and a much nicer experience all round!

I would 100% take one if offered. All of my friends who have had elective C-sections have had a much calmer time and were able to manage the recovery in a few weeks.
