Anyone awake.. does this sounds like labour/start of?

I started feeling some very mild period pains yesterday early evening, but it felt pretty constant with some some painful ‘surges’ every so often but not painful enough to warrant thinking it would be labour, I thought maybe baby moving around/getting lower.

I’ve woke up at 3am and now it’s definitely more ‘waves’ of pain. The period type ache gets sore but still not agony, and definitely feel like a wave with a definite peak of soreness before it fades.

I googled and early labour is like 10-30 minutes apart lasting 60-90 seconds… these are consistently 2-2.5 minutes apart and lasting 12-16 seconds and have been like that for about an hour and half (since I woke up)

The period pain radiates into my right hip and top of thigh too when it’s at its ‘peak’

What is happening? I had a c-section with my first and have never experienced labour so I’m not sure what I’m meant to look for, but because I’m attempting VBAC I need to have continuous monitoring on baby when I do go into labour. I just want to know if I should be heading in or not 🤣 I’m 36+3 and only ordered the bedside crib today Blush

It sounds like it could well be and if the pains are only 2 mins apart, I'd call the hospital ASAP.

Best get checked over. Good luck!

@ffscovid that’s what I’m worried about is that if it is and they’re so close together I could pop this baby on the floor any second 😂 but surely not? It would be my first labour and its really not very painful. I’m a huge wuss daily and have expected labour to really wipe me out in terms of pain threshold Grin

Perhaps I’ll ring triage and see what they’re suggesting..

Agree with the above poster esp at only 36 weeks. Good luck

Yes, please call the hospital. Good luck!

Worth getting checked out, I'm sure triage will suggest you pop in. Good luck!
My contractions started as mild period pain and were 4 in 10 mins from the start, but it still took a few hours for things to get into full swing.

I had period type pains for a couple of days before my waters broke! Definitely go get checked if the pains are so close together. Good luck

The start of my labour was like a sharp pain in my cervix lasting about 15 seconds every 6 or 7 minutes. It was only because it was so regular that I was suspicious. I was only 34 weeks at the time. I called triage who said come in to be on the safe side. It was 4 minutes apart by the time I got to hospital and 2 minutes apart after my hour on monitoring was up. By then it was far more intense and involved tightening too and I was in no doubt that I was in labour. Definitely give 5hem a call and good luck.

@Brenna24 oh my… I was saying to my mum earlier that for some reason my lightening crotch (stabby pain in cervix) was really bad and every 5 or so minutes! 😖
