C section wound hurting at night

I had a section 3 days ago, so I know it's still early days but during the day I'm absolutely fine. Resting but making sure I'm not just lying in bed all day. No real pain just some discomfort.

But at night, even though I'm getting out of bed the way the midwife told me to, it takes me ages to straighten up and the incision feels very tender and sore.

Is this normal?

Mine was never painful but was uncomfortable for about three weeks. Keep an eye out for: any increase rather than decrease in discomfort/pain, any discharge or increased redness, or fever or feeling unwell. If any of these things happen then see a doctor.

You shouldn't be getting out of bed unassisted. My husband helped me out of bed for almost a month.

Completely normal where you have been laying all night with relaxed muscles then putting them to use in getting out of bed.

Csection is a major operation and it takes a full year to fully heal inside. Keep taking regular analgesia till you feel you can cope without this.

Continue to get out of bed the way you were shown in hospital.

Hi OP
I had a elective section 3 weeks ago, i was sore at night and even now i take painkillers at night. Three days in I was in significant pain so I don’t think its unusual, just keep an eye out for signs of infection. My GP prescribed me with cocodamol on day 4 which i took at night and during the night (as i found pain worse at night) to help with the pain so you could try some stronger painkillers. I’m still having to take it really easy now three weeks on, i guess it just takes time to heal, i can defo see why they say 6 weeks for driving etc.
