Spinal pain after epidural

Hi!

I thought I'd post on here to see if anyones had any similar issues.

I birth to DC 20 months ago via emergency c-section however I'd had an epidural whilst in labour.

I can't recall exactly when it started but maybe a couple months after the birth I've had an extremely tender pain in my spine. It's localised to a very specific area, just under where the bra would end, and very painful to touch.

GP has only done a telephone consult, he asked what I thought might have caused it and I said the only 'trauma' I've had is the epidural but without seeing me he can't see if the tender spot is where the epidural would go in and I personally have no clue!

I was sent for an X-ray yesterday so awaiting results on that but I'm more thinking nerve damage if it's in the right place for epidural!

If anyones had any pain similar to this please do let me know! I'm so confused on what it could be, especially since it's been around for the best part of 20 months.

I used to work at a physio and we had this quite often. You need a specialist neurophysio.

It's actually a really common side effect from epidural/ c section spinals. We saw some ladies with permanent paralysis from this too, some really sad situations. Your's sounds mild in comparison and hopefully treatment will help.

I'm sure I remember My friend having something similar. Though I'm not sure if it was caused by the epidural its self. She also had a CSF leak As well afterwards. I think she had desensitisation therapy on it. From a physio I think but can't remember exactly.

Several months after delivery and a lot higher than an epidural would be placed = unlikely to be related to the epidural.

Google Tuffiers line, that’s the level an epidural is inserted at
