Want another child but scared after 2 c sections

Just that really I would like a third child but already had 2 c sections and believe the risks get higher the more u have, not sure it's safe to have a Vbac after 2 c sections either. So should i contemplate having anymore kids or just be lucky to be healthy and have 2 beautiful dc already?

Any success stories of more dc after 2 c sections?

I had three sections with no issues whatsoever. Following my third section the surgeon said I would OK to to have a fourth if I wanted (I absolutely didn't!). I think a lot depends on how well you have healed and how much scarring you have from the previous sections - were you given any feedback following your last section? If not, perhaps you could ask to see your notes.

I believe the record is something like 7 or 8 c-sections.

The only thing it said was I last blood 1/4 pint which I do t think is bad now

They too quite a bit longer doing my.l 2nd c section because they said that the original scar tissues fussed to my muscle so they had to b careful and take their time, but after that I healed really well ( with both activities)

I had 4 within 6 years. I struggled to recover with my 3rd when they stood me up too early and I had muscle damage. I couldn't stand up straight for two weeks. As a result I had to rest a lot when heavily pregnant with fourth. I wouldn't recommend having four but there were no issues with the 3rd pregnancy, and that was due to aftercare.

They were both worth it though!

With both actually 🤦‍♀️

That's good to hear, my neighbours dd had 4. I've never asked if she had any issues because when she told me I didn't want another at the time.

They said at the hospital where I had my dc that 5 was the most

I had 3 csections, I wanted vbac both times but it didn't work out, I definitely would've opted for that, but my recovery was easier each time. No issues whatsoever, third csection I was up moving gently within 7 hours, and was up and down stairs to SCBU repeatedly the following day with no bother at all.

mlj123 · 08/01/2022 22:32

This is re assuring to hear. I had it in my head I don't really want to risk having anymore. But the other day I was in a shop looking for something and went past the pregnancy tests and it made me so sad thinking I will never need one ever again, my dc are so beautiful I would love to have more

My cousin had three sections and was fine.

JessCat75 · 09/01/2022 08:50

I had 3 sections, two emergency and one elective for medical reasons. I had no issues at all with the third, my youngest is now 16 but from what I can remember they don't recommend a fourth.

MindyStClaire · 09/01/2022 09:07

I've had two. I'm the second I needed an inverted T incision in my uterus and lost 2L of blood. They just said that if I wanted another it would have to be a section because of the extra incision, but I wasn't told not to have any more.

Sorry I know this was posted a while ago- just wondering how soon was too soon to be getting up after a c section? Prob having one myself and grateful for any pointers
Rnm62 · 02/02/2022 04:47

My cousin had 6 c sections & was fine. Also, my consultant that did my 2 c sections had done 10 (!!!!) c sections on a woman once! Shock

WorstXmasEver · 02/02/2022 04:50

Too risky. It's a major operation & if you die what are your children going to do?

rose7120 · 03/02/2022 15:59

I'm pregnant with my third and have had two sections. I was enjoying the reassurance of this thread until I got to the last comment ShockHmm

squatternutbosh12 · 03/02/2022 16:20

@rose7120 Remain reassured. No studies have found an increased risk of death with multiple c sections.
Congratulations on your pregnancy :)
