How to keep a baby in the correct position for delivery

Hi everyone,
My baby was breech until just now ie. 34 weeks. I did all the exercises to turn it and something must have worked as GP thinks head is finally down. I have also felt a shift in position of kicks so I think she is right.
I would really like to keep it this way as I want nothing more than a VBAC delivery.
Does anyone have any tips on what I could do to keep baby positioned correctly?
Thanks

No slouching whilst sitting as apparently this gives them the room to move back. You need to prop yourself up on cushions whilst on the sofa. My midwife with dd2 said this is apparently the worst thing for babies that like to flip around. It's probably quite late for them to move back but they can do try to monitor where the feet are etc so you can tell if they flip back. Sit on a birthing ball to keep your hips open to allow the head to stay down and ideally start to drop down into the pelvis. X

I have no idea if this is true but I remember a midwife talking to me about spending time on all fours, and not slouching on the sofa, I used to spend a lot of time sitting on the birthing ball and cleaned all my floors on my hands and knees, seemed to take the pressure off my hips!

Agree with the others, it's probably a bit late to shift now anyway.

Both of mine were transverse till about 34 weeks then moved into position. DC1 was born at 38 weeks so you might not have that long to go Smile

Bouncing on the ball, walking, not slouching/sofa lounging!

I found the exercises on the SpinningBabies website moved my transverse baby and she's still in correct position at 40 wks.

I think if baby wants to move, they'll move. My dd was breech, head down at 39 weeks and I went into labour at 40+1 - it was discovered in labour that she was then transverse Confused

Don't recline on your back. If you're lying, lie on your side. If you're sitting, keep upright- sitting on a birthing ball may help with this.

I spent a lot of time sitting on a birthing ball rotating my hips. The baby was in the perfect position for birth (but maybe it was just luck!)

PanicBuyingSprouts · 02/01/2022 10:50

Oh that's unlucky @Chanel05!

All the squats and as much upright moving time as you can! But ultimately they will do what they want.

@PanicBuyingSprouts yes 🙈 refused me an emcs because I could push dd out. But she's sideways... in the end a very big emergency section because, would you believe it, she couldn't come out transverse Hmm.

Fwiw, I spent hours and weeks on my ball and it clearly did f all 😂.
