Someone please tell me it gets better? I gave birth 2 weeks ago and really suffering with piles and standing/sitting too long with my stitches. I had a second degree tear and a graze. How long did it take you recover? I want to be able to properly enjoy my newborn but it's so hard when you're constantly uncomfortable and not very mobile. The piles aren't severe but I think with the stitches and the piles together it feels a lot worse. Please give me some positivity that it gets better. It's really getting me down.

I was exactly the same, get some anusol or similar to help with the piles and some lactulose from the pharmacist to stop them getting worse. I think mine got a lot better after about 6 weeks but I can't remember exactly.

Although I was lucky not to have stitching (so can't comment on that recovery period), I had a labial tear and then piles which appeared about 2 or 3 weeks post partum.

The tear and bruising felt much better about a month post partum, and I think my piles about a week after. I reccomend Anusol (there's two kinds - get the one with the stronger medicine in), and I found that sitting in the bath helped them go back in too.

I'm also 2 weeks postpartum today, I had an episiotomy and a graze and feeling similar. The area aches way more when I've been active or sitting too long. I find laying down for a bit of the day helps massively but its not always realistic. Baths with epsom salts really help and feel soothing, also do you have spritz for bits? That is good stuff, you can buy it in boots. Will get better OP, you're hopefully over the worst.

Up your fibre, makes a huge amount of difference

I had the most horrendous piles and a tear after I gave birth.
I over applied pile cream and as disgusting as it sounds, I urinated in a bowl of warm water as I found it pain free that way.
Was all good within a few weeks

They're back Sad and now worse than before. I can't even insert a suppository because they're in the way Sad so worried about them and now I'm scared to eat anything! I'm eating lots though as I don't want to make it even worse. Any more advice would be really helpful.

sadly I had them for 5 months. Fissures, piles and I have 'scardey bowels so I ended up going every other day as I couldn't face it which kept the issue going.
I ended up taking laculose daily and when I could bear it suppositories and Anusol.

I've been pain free for 2 weeks and it's bliss.

I've been taking lactulose and it's not a problem going to the toilet but they're just there all the time! It's so uncomfortable to sit and to walk around. I got prescribed some steroid cream and suppositories but it hasn't worked. No idea how to get rid of them. It's hard not to sit or stand for a long time with a newborn. I'm either sitting feeding him or standing rocking him. Any more ideas? It's getting me down. I feel like I can't go out and walk far as I'm in so much discomfort.

I must say this is much worse than the stitches were. I constantly feel like I need the loo but it's obviously just the piles hanging out. It's all so glamorous.
