I had my baby at St Helier last year and while the care was ok, there were a few things I want that happy with. Not even pregnant or planning on another yet but would love to hear some good experiences and recommendations of hospitals in south west London/Surrey.

@Vbree
I have a friend who also had her baby at St Helier a few years ago and she kinda said the same thing about them too. I myself had all three of my children at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) over at Farnborough; Bromley after being recommended by a relative, whose friend’s wife is a Doctor at the hospital. Living in Croydon, it was the best decision we made to go out of area, as our local hospital really isn’t good; I mean the horror stories some of which my own relatives had experienced when they too went in to have their little ones. I always recommend the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) to everyone for everything lol, they really are brilliant. Going by my own personal experience with them, from antenatal care through to labour, birth and post natal care, I just cannot fault them. Caring midwives who are very attentive, cleanliness of the whole maternity department and hospital in general, calming atmosphere of the birthing suites within their Birthing Centre. Just excellent! University College London Hospital (UCL) over in London is also meant to be very good.

I'm under East Surrey Hospital which seems to be the preferred option for women where I live who want to avoid Croydon University Hospital. I'm only 13 weeks, but so far they've been very good.

Ah I think it's linked with St Helier actually. I've heard it's quite good. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

@Vbree you’re welcome. I can’t remember off the top of my head exactly how many private rooms they have there but yes they definitely have them.
