im due the 12th january but was 18 days early with my first which if i followed suit with this baby would be on xmas day. I really dont want a xmas baby and dh is working until the the 27th so i really want to delay things until then am i asking the impossible . Ideally id love a new years baby. With my first i did have pre-eclampsia and was on alot of medication so could that resulted in me going into labour early? I had no warning whatsoever and yet with this one very day im thinking im going go into labour feel like im fit to burst.

Hmm well it's thought that labour begins with a chemical signal from the baby that is then reinforced by a chemical response from the mother.
It's kind of hard to fight that!
Once you're in early labour I suppose you could go into the brightest, most inhospitable, slightly chilly place with lots of strangers, lie on your back and get them all to stare at you - that would slow things down!

You can't stop it! Inconvenient I know!

Er, yes, you're asking the impossible, I'm afraid! Babies come when they want to, not when it's convenient for us.

the best you can hope for is a when you go into labour, you have a very slow one ! do as pruni suggests !

if you had pre eclampsia then delivery on the early side may well have been safer for you and the baby, if you don;t have it this time you might go later
