Can labour slow down?

Hi everyone,
My baby is due today and I have been having regular contractions (every 3-5 minutes for 1 minute) since yesterday evening. Had a show later in the night and seem to be having a period-like discharge still...
Just wondering if it is normal for labour to mellow out a little? I am still getting contractions, hooked up to a TENS machine now as well but they seem to be less intense than last night. How can I encourage things to pick up again? I want to meet my son already!

nipple stimulation

sex/ orgasm

walking upstairs sideways

rocking on a birth ball

eat, drink, rest and go to the loo as and when you need to

be patient.. baby will arrive in his/ her own sweet time

labour will let you know when it needs your full attention

yes, it definitely can and often does slow down.

Don't know how to encourage things to pick up, but I think that if Lulumama sees this, she'll tell you nipple stim is good for speeding things up

good luck

Thanks ladies. Finding it impossible to get any proper rest because contractions seem to be more painful when I'm lying down for some reason. They're still happening regularly, just not increasing...shall try the nipple trick and see if that gets things rolling!
