TMI is this normal 3 weeks after birth?

Been passing this for a few days now. I had a traumatic long labour which resulted in forceps and an episiotomy and I also had maternal sepsis. Just wanted to make sure this was normal? I feel so worried about everything after having such a crappy labour so maybe I’m just being paranoid!

Looks typical to what I had which was normal. Try to rest a bit more. As long as not accompanied with pain, smell or a temp it’s usually ok.

Take care of yourself and remember if you are worried please don’t hesitate to contact medical professionals.

Hey,

I also had episiotomy and forceps, it’s not until you start talking to people you realise how damn common it is! We just don’t talk about it.

Anyway, it looks ok I mean is that from your vagina or form the episiotomy? After a fortnight I squatted over a mirror and had an infection so needed anti biotics. It was yellows/bleeding.

I’d deffo have a look to be sure.

Thank you, that’s made me feel reassured. I wouldn’t say I’ve had pain as such, it can be uncomfortable but it’s not painful - I assume this is normal considering it’s only been 3 weeks?

Thank you for your reply!

It can be hard to say what’s coming from where.. I’m not sure if that’s me being stupid or if it’s just genuinely hard to figure it out.. but my stitches look fine to me and seem to be healing nicely, so I assume it’s coming from my vagina! Could you see the yellow as soon as you looked? I’ve been checking it pretty religiously as no one looked at down below for me in the hospital so I’ve been stressed thinking something might go unnoticed!! Thanks so much

Ooooh if you’ve been looking you would have noticed anything untoward. I only looked because the pain got progressively worse and when I had a good look stitches had come apart and it looked like I had two butt holes one of them seeping yellow pus 😬.

You could probably get your midwife to come and have a quick look if it would put your mind at ease?

Maybe get your GP to have a look? My GP was very good at sorting me out when I needed antibiotics for my infected stitches. The midwife just told me that some stitches were gaping and to go see the GP!!Grin
