VBAC or elective c-section??

Hi all. I am 34 weeks pregnant.
I had an elective c-section 3.5yrs ago as dd was breech.
This little one is right way round and so far I have opted for VBAC. However I am measuring big, predicted to be between 8 and 9ib at term (I know these aren’t always accurate). My dd was 8ib 10oz. I just don’t know what to do. I’d like to avoid an elective but my midwife said they won’t let me go hours in labour so I feel the likelihood is that I will end up with a c section anyway?? Has anyone had experience of this?
I have another chat with consultant in 2 weeks

I personally would go for the section but my situation is different. I had a really traumatic birth last year with my son, 15 hours of horrendous induced labour which resulted in a cat 1 section. I'm due my 2nd in July and am having a section on the 6th of July, I feel really calm with my decision and couldn't face trying a Vbac to possibly end up needing a section anyway! Good luck with whatever you choose

I had a cat 1 emergency last year and I'd be so tempted to go for the vbac. I like the idea of having a plan so that if I needed an emcs it wasn't a frantic emergency like before.

Everything is your choice and your choice only. They can’t “not allow” you to labour for long. It’s your birth your choice!!
I had a wonderful vbac in February in the water after a 2 day labour. My advice is to do your research and don’t be bullied. There’s w fantastic VBAC support group on Facebook with lots of really helpful advice and empowering vbac stories x

Thank you you three!
Unfortunately I am not on Facebook but I definitely need to do some reading.
Good luck @babyt2020, not long to go!

I had a vbac with my 8lb 12oz baby. She was predicted to be larger but she came at 38 weeks so they were spot on with the prediction. I had agreed to have an ELCS at 39 weeks due to being high risk.

If they are concerned about size them you should be having 3 growth scans each 2 weeks apart.

Wow 8ib 12oz! Thank you @Fitforforty. I have midwife and consultant this week so will see what measurements are looking like

I had an induced vbac as ds was 10 days late. He was 9lbs13 and I mainly enjoyed it. I would totally recommend trying.
