Vain questions about CS!

So I'm doing plenty of reading around the risks associated with a CS, but I've got a couple of vanity questions relating to it as well Grin

Is an overhang pretty much to be expected?

Does anyone think that they done anything during pregnancy that may have lessened the chance of having one? Minimal weight gain/exercise etc

Has your scar faded well?

I know there's more to childbirth than this, and the baby and me being safe is the most important thing! I'm just aware that this is potentially my last and I'll be left with the body I'll have and I'm trying to get my head round it Grin

I'm feeling better seeing so many positive stories of no overhang/minimal scarring, thanks all Smile

I had no overhang after my first but did get one after my second. Wasn’t in amazing shape either time (overweight but not hugely so). I think the more sections you have, the more inevitable it is.

@OwlTwitterings apologies if this is a stupid question but do they go in the same incision each time ?

SomeCatsLikeCheese · 14/05/2021 13:43

They did for me, @mrssunshinexxx.

Thank you @SomeCatsLikeCheese

My old scar was cut out so everything was pulled tighter and restitched.

BilboBercow · 14/05/2021 18:06

I don't have overhang. My scar sits in my bikini line and you wouldn't know it's there

Allthereindeersaregirls · 14/05/2021 23:40

No overhang. I was overweight pre-pregnancy, lost weight during and a healthy weight after.

I had an overhang from my first vaginal delivery, in a totally different place to my c section scar. My scar is well in my pubic hair, far below my knicker line (and I wear skimpy ones). It hasn't faded much but I don't care, purple or silver, it's still an obvious scar!

I don’t have an overhang, scar has faded to pretty much nothing and it’s been 16 months. Does get a little reddish/purple hue if I do anything particularly strenuous, or maybe if something is rubbing irritating it, not really sure why it does it 😂

But no, no overhang, no pouch, healed well.

wotchhha · 14/05/2021 23:49

No over hang & scar is very neat however it doesn't lie as it did after my VB. I can't see how it's possible to do so as that is what stitches do.

You're all making me feel so hopeful!

Thank you Grin got my appointment with the consultant next week, here's hoping the CS will actually be approved 🤞🏻

I agree with pp who mentioned the skin, so very much luck. I had big babies and I’m petite so skin was stretched beyond recovery. I don’t have an overhang per say but have excess skin and a flat tummy underneathHmm
