How long did it take you to recover from a second degree tear??

I had a second degree (2c) with my first and it took me around 6 weeks to just be able to stand or sit for longer than half an hour at a time.
I did have quite substantial bruising though from the pressure of baby and being told not to basically fight against my own body trying to push.

I had a second degree tear with my last pregnancy and honestly it was a few days and felt fine. Very little pain afterwards.

Took me about 6-8 weeks to feel 'normal' again, couldn't have sex until about 9-10 weeks though. Due another baby very soon and nervous I'll tear againConfused x

2 weeks for the soreness to go when sitting, slightly tender when wiping for a couple more weeks and had sex at 6 weeks and stretching it did burn quite a bit but not unbearable

I had a second degree tear with my 2nd, 3rd and 4th (3rd degree tear and episiotomy with DC1).

Probably not helpful but I was ok each time tbh. I always used a jug for weeing and I was incredibly paranoid about post birth poos (after dc1) so I always get glycerine suppositories and put a pad against my stitches. But no real discomfort from them.

If its taking you longer than you expect to heal OP, don't worry. It was more like 12 weeks for me and a couple of further checks after my 6 week check at the gp. Got there in the end.

A couple of weeks

Baby is only three days old. I'm feeling ok and not much pain at all but trying to keep on top of the painkillers so I think that's helping

Everyone is different and it all depends on the amount of bruising too. Plus not all 2nd degree tears are the same. There's 2a, b and c as well.

My friend had a 2nd degree tear with both her children and her first, she was up and shopping the next day, her second, she could barely stand and sit for long for weeks on end.
Yet both 2nd degree tears. But her second one she had bad bruising

I was sitting down very carefully probably for the first week or two. After that it was mainly only sore after walking for too long, I probably over did it a bit. By 3-4 weeks all fine even after a long walk. Hope you feel better soon
