How late/early were you having your second compared to first?

I am currently pregnant with my second baby and already feeling crazy uncomfortable at 31 weeks Blush I was 13 days late having my first, a few people have said to me second baby's usually come slightly earlier. Just wondering what others experiences of this are? How many weeks were you when you gave birth to your first compared to second? Also was there a difference in the length of labour?

First and second babies are twins and they were a month early, then DC3 was 8 days late which felt like a lifetime after never being pregnant to full term before let alone over due!

Smarshian · 12/02/2021 22:26

First was 10 days late. Second 2 days late. 6 hr labour, 3 hour labour respectively

cashooo · 12/02/2021 22:40

First - 14 days late, 24 hr labour.
Second - 14 days late, 22 hr labour.
(Sorry.)

HelloDulling · 12/02/2021 22:55

Both were 5 days early, and they both took a bloody long time.

buddy79 · 12/02/2021 23:02

DS1 -11days late, 36 hr labour
DS2 -2 days early, 9hr labour

Thanks for your replies everyone! It's so interesting to see certain patterns and then a few people who had the opposite and their second baby's came later!! I won't hold my breath but it gives me a little hope I won't be waiting as long!
It's my LGs bday 4 days before my due date so I hope baby isn't early for her sake - can't be controlled though if they are as long as they arrive happy and healthy!!

Didn’t see the bit about labour 😆

From ‘established’ labour (3cm dilated)
1st - 2 hours 20 mins
2nd - 1 hour 40 mins
3rd - 40 mins
4th - 20 mins pushing, nothing else!

happytoday73 · 13/02/2021 11:19

Oh missed the Labour bit...
1st...32 hours,
2nd from waters breaking with no contractions to delivery... Less than 6 hours

DenisetheMenace · 13/02/2021 11:20

First was two weeks late and 32 hours, second due date and 3 hours start to finish.

PlinkPlink · 13/02/2021 11:21

@Reachersloveinterest

1st baby 13 days late, two day labour. 2nd baby born on due date, 7 minute labour 😆
Oh wow this terrifies me a little bit!! My first labour was 2 days long as well! How did you make it in time to the hospital with your second?!

lucy 7 minutes is a bit misleading really. I started having mild contraction about 9am, baby born 12.30pm, but my maternity notes state time in established labour 7 minutes.

Pumpkinpops · 14/02/2021 22:03

1st baby - 10 days late
2nd baby - 11 days late
Both labours about 3 days, I think 15ish hours 'established' labour. The non-established part was certainly no picnic either!
