VBAC after C Section with cephalopelvic disproportion

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this situation?

I’m not currently expecting but will start TTC soon for baby number 2, it’s just something I have been thinking about.

My baby is 10 months old now and I ended up having an emergency c section as although I was fully dilated and pushing well my baby wouldn’t come out. I went to theatre where they tried to get him out with forceps but it ended in a c section. I was advised by the surgeon after they would recommend an elective c section next time rather than a VBAC, as my body wasn’t designed for child birth. Hmm This was also mentioned in my birth de brief, I was told I had cephalopelvic disproportion, I had to google it, basically my pelvis isn’t big enough for babies. My 10 month old was 6.14lbs when born so not massive.

I would really like to try for a VBAC with baby 2, do you think they would allow me to try or would they still recommend a c section?

Thanks for any advice or experience

If I were you I'd go for another section rather than another potentially traumatic run up to birth.

Depends,if CD was diagnosed via X-ray I wouldn't really risk VBAC.
If it's only doctor's word as a reason for previous CS then you should probably ask for more details before making a decision.

Fab thanks for your replies, I’m sensing that it will probably end in a c section but can be discussed to see if it’s at all possible?

Of course you can.
Especially if it was not yet confirmed by X-ray or MRI.They should really double check before making decision about CS.
Good luck.

@Whatwouldyoudo2021 i know this is an old thread but I honestly thought I’d written your post! I had exactly the same with my first labour, even the weight was exactly the same! I’m due baby number 2 in 4 weeks and have booked in for a c section but just wondered whether you ended up having a c section again?
