Worried about VBAC due to size?

I'm classed underweight and have a low BMI, my first baby was transverse so I couldn't have a natural birth, he didn't turn. I'm not sure what my thoughts were back then, but I feel like my midwife made me worry even more.

I'm 22+5, had my last midwife appointment at 16 weeks and she repeatedly said how tiny (a good 4 times, she was trying to be nice not realising what she's doing). I now worry: am I too small to naturally give birth to my baby.

I do have a call with a consultant due to my low BMI next week, i will bring up my worries then but is there anyone here with a low BMI who had a positive birth story?

Just as a reference, I've always been skinny, been told my entire life to eat a burger and some chips which has actually caused me to hate my body and never ever felt comfortable in it. I love food and love to eat, blood and thyroid levels are fine, it's just how my entire family is built.

Low BMI in itself wouldn’t be the issue. What matters is the size of your bones - specifically the size of the space inside the pelvis where the baby has to pass through. And it’s all in relation to the overall size and also the head circumference of the baby you grow too. This is clearly worrying you so you should ask your midwife about this next time you see her. They may be able to find your notes from your first birth which could help answer this question for you.
